Now antibiotics from Astrapharm – only by prescription
On August 1, 2022, new rules for the sale of antibiotics were introduced in Ukraine. Now they can only be purchased with an electronic or paper prescription from a doctor.
The only exceptions for the free distribution of antibacterial drugs will be pharmacies in temporarily occupied territories, in zones of active hostilities, and the purchase of antibiotics by volunteer and charitable organizations.
The pharmaceutical company Astrapharm, one of the largest producers of antibiotics in Ukraine, has always supported initiatives aimed at solving the problem of uncontrolled use of antibiotics and its consequences. After all, the emergence of antibiotic resistance, when bacteria acquire resistance to antibiotics, poses a threat to the health of the inhabitants of the entire planet.
How do I get a prescription for an antibiotic now?
- Contact your family doctor or a specialist doctor. A declaration is not required for this.
- If necessary, after the examination, the doctor will issue an electronic prescription for an antibiotic and issue a certificate to the patient containing all information about the prescription.
- If the institution does not work with the unified healthcare system (USOS), the doctor will issue a paper prescription to the patient.
- The patient can purchase an antibiotic by prescription at any pharmacy. To do this, it is enough to present an information certificate or a paper prescription to the pharmacist.
Please note: the doctor issues a prescription for the active substance, so the patient will independently choose the manufacturer and brand of the drug, taking into account his budget.
Take antibiotics responsibly as prescribed by your doctor and be healthy!
