Composition:

  • active substance: fosfomycin;
  • 1 sachet contains 5,631 g of fosfomycin trometamol, which is equivalent to 3.0 g of fosfomycin;
  • excipients: saccharin, sucrose, mandarin flavor, orange flavor.

Dosage form. Granules for oral solution.

Main physical and chemical properties: granular white powder with a characteristic odor of mandarin flavor.

Indications for use.

Treatment of acute uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections caused by fosfomycin-sensitive microorganisms in men, girls over 12 years of age, and adult women. Prevention during diagnostic procedures and surgical interventions in adult patients.

Contraindications.
Hypersensitivity to fosfomycin or to other components of the drug, severe renal insufficiency (creatinine clearance <10 ml/min), children under 12 years of age, undergoing hemodialysis.

Method of application and dose.

The drug is administered orally on an empty stomach, preferably at bedtime after emptying the bladder. The contents of the sachet are dissolved in ½ a glass of water. The dosing regimen is set by the doctor individually. Usually, a single dose for adults, including elderly patients (under 75 years of age), in the acute phase of the disease is 3 g (1 sachet) once.

In order to prevent urinary tract infection during surgery, transurethral diagnostic tests take the contents of one sachet 3 hours before the procedure and the other sachet 24 hours after the procedure.

Children.
It can be used to treat acute uncomplicated lower urinary tract infections in girls older than 12 years.
There are insufficient data on the use of the drug for therapeutic purposes in boys older than 12 years, as well as sufficient data on the use of the drug for prophylactic purposes in both boys and girls.
