Contraindication.
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients in the preparation, to hydroxyzine or to any of the piperazine derivatives. Severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 10 ml / min). Patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine as coated tablets.

Adults and children over 12 years old: 10 mg once a day (1 tablet once a day). The tablets must be swallowed with a glass of water.

Elderly patients: the dose of the drug in elderly patients with normal renal function does not need to be reduced.

Patients with moderate to severe renal impairment: There is no efficacy / safety data available for patients with impaired renal function. Since cetirizine is excreted mainly by the kidneys, in cases where another method of treatment cannot be applied, the intervals between doses must be set individually.
It is necessary to adjust the dose of the drug in accordance with the table below. In order to use this dosing table, the patient’s creatinine clearance (CC) must be calculated in ml / min.

For children with impaired renal function, the dose should be selected individually, taking into account the value of the renal clearance of each patient, as well as his age and body weight.

Patients with impaired liver function: for patients who have only impaired liver function, adjust the dose.

Patients with impaired liver and kidney function are recommended dose adjustment (see above “Patients with moderate to severe renal impairment”).

The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor individually, depending on the course of the disease.

Children.
The drug is prescribed for children aged 12 years and older. The drug in the form of film-coated tablets is not recommended for children under 12 years of age, since this dosage form does not allow you to select the required dose.
